Why Should I Keep my Inbox Tidy?

There are many reasons to keep your inbox as tidy as possible.

One of them is to make sure that you have a smooth experience with Outlook. Another one and maybe most important to some people is to stay organised.

We recently had a customer who stored everything in their inbox and ended up with 80,000 items. He then called us up to say that his Outlook was not working as expected, this was because Outlook was attempting to process 80,000 items at the same time.

What we would recommend?

We would suggest that you keep your inbox to a maximum of 1,000 items, anything more than that, you can expect your Outlook to not perform as you would like it to.

There are 2 ways of doing this. The first would be to store your items in sub folders, this would be most useful to people whose mailbox is less than 10 GB. Anything over that and we would start archiving items out of the mailbox completely and into a separate archive mailbox which can be stored and accessed locally at any time.
